Deviation Actions
...I know I am. During the 5 years I've been on here I've gone from very active, running around this place, looking for new art to discover and finding new ways to display my stuff, to a bit slow and at peace. Now I have found a number of artists whose art I follow and appreciate and I don't really see the point in submitting to groups to get :fav:s any more. I have 10-20 people here who regularly takes an interest in what I do and whose opinions I care about and I'm pretty happy with that. I've also found some friends who I like to talk nonsense with from time to time and who helps making the boring hours at work somewhat easier to get through.
But how about DA? I like to think I get better and better at what I do, both in photography and in painting. But even if I spend some time and submit stuff to groups and work a little at it, people just don't seem to bother about new art as much as before. I used to get a number of random :fav:s and comments on each deviation before but now it's more and more a rarity. - Dude! You suck nowadays!, might be the only logical answer. It might be true but I think there is more to it than that.
How about you? What's your experience?

Migrating to facebook?
Yes, I’m on facebook, as of six months or so (feel welcome to look me up). I’m thinking about rebooting my art and photo posting business, but I don’t know if deviantart is the place to do it because to be honest it seems to be more and more slow around here. So I was leaning towards facebook instead and having less quality control on the stuff I post. Any thoughts on that?
I'm an atheist but happy f**king Christmas anyhow
Yep. It’s that time of year when the radio is spewing out shitty Christmas songs and we all keep the Chinese sweatshops busy.
And if you didn’t know(most of you do), the only Christmas song worth listening to is “The Fairytale of New York” by the Pogues and Kirsty MacColl so here is a link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrAwK9juhhY
Life got in the way
I still have a number of watcher portraits to do but I think digital art will be on hold for a while. Thing is I'm in the middle of a divorce and I can't for my life find any inspiration to paint. I will maybe submit the occasional photo from time to time but that's about it. So If you're one of those that submitted a request, you'll have to wait for a while still.
Why I shoot film still
I was aimlessly going through the intharwebs and found these two articles that explains a lot. (I own and use a Yashica MAT)
The megapixel thief part 1: http://www.ultrasomething.com/photography/2010/01/the-megapixel-thief-part-1/
The megapixel thief part 2: http://www.ultrasomething.com/photography/2010/01/the-megapixel-thief-part-2/
If you want to know why it's still relevant to shoot film, read them.
