Migrating to facebook?Yes, I’m on facebook, as of six months or so (feel welcome to look me up). I’m thinking about rebooting my art and photo posting business, but I don’t know if deviantart is the place to do it because to be honest it seems to be more and more slow around here. So I was leaning towards facebook instead and having less quality control on the stuff I post. Any thoughts on that?
I'm an atheist but happy f**king Christmas anyhowYep. It’s that time of year when the radio is spewing out shitty Christmas songs and we all keep the Chinese sweatshops busy.
And if you didn’t know(most of you do), the only Christmas song worth listening to is “The Fairytale of New York” by the Pogues and Kirsty MacColl so here is a link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrAwK9juhhY
Is DA getting Lazy?...I know I am. During the 5 years I've been on here I've gone from very active, running around this place, looking for new art to discover and finding new ways to display my stuff, to a bit slow and at peace. Now I have found a number of artists whose art I follow and appreciate and I don't really see the point in submitting to groups to get :fav:s any more. I have 10-20 people here who regularly takes an interest in what I do and whose opinions I care about and I'm pretty happy with that. I've also found some friends who I like to talk nonsense with from time to time and who helps making the boring hours at work somewhat easier to get through.
But how about DA? I like to think I get better and better at what I do, both in photography and in painting. But even if I spend some time and submit stuff to groups and work a little at it, people just don't seem to bother about new art as much as before. I used to get a number of random :fav:s and comments on each deviation before but n
Life got in the wayI still have a number of watcher portraits to do but I think digital art will be on hold for a while. Thing is I'm in the middle of a divorce and I can't for my life find any inspiration to paint. I will maybe submit the occasional photo from time to time but that's about it. So If you're one of those that submitted a request, you'll have to wait for a while still.
Why I shoot film stillI was aimlessly going through the intharwebs and found these two articles that explains a lot. (I own and use a Yashica MAT)

Free Portrait of YOU if you're a watcher.Sorry! You were too late
I usually start of a new year by doing a number of portraits of people watching me here on DA. It seems now that the world isn't coming to an end today so I think I'll start off 2013 the same way as I've done some previous years.
If you are interested to have your face captured in binary code(painted digitally), then send me a note or an email with ref photos or links to such. You have until the last of January 2013 to apply for a portrait.
There is no guarantees I'll paint you even if you apply and I'll work on a strictly Do-I-feel-like-it? basis. Good, interesting refs will take priority over web cam pics and you'll have to let me have full artistic freedom to do my own interpretation (but if you want to look like a certain hobbit or superhero, please tell me and maybe it'll happen). This is NOT a "free commission" opportunity. The portraits will be posted here on dA, so You'll have to be fine with that.
...I forgot to tell you something.Three of my pictures served as an ispiration for three short stories/texts written by AMW Conner, that is published in SKIN magazine #4. (It's a publication with adult/mature and to some, disturbing content)
The Four HoursmenYou care to know how the financial sector is screwing us over and you want to know what can be done about it? If so, try to get to see this documentary http://www.fourhorsemenfilm.com/ where people like former IMF and World Bank economists and others that know stuff gives a no bs explanation on how "capitalism" of today works. It's a heavy subject, but so important. I don't have any bank loans and after this I sure as shit wont get one either.

I’ve realized over the years that I can’t draw everything myself, and I’ve damaged my hands by trying to draw all of my comics on my own. My followers are always asking when the next chapter of Fisheye Placebo or Knite is coming out, and it always pains me to say not yet. I can’t draw for more than a few hours a day now before the pain sets in.
I’m still determined to finish the comics I started, but I know I’m going to need help. I’ve been dabbling in 3D backgrounds for Fisheye Placebo, but I still had to build them myself, which is very time consuming and damaging to my hands in different ways.
I’ve been thinking a lot and I want to move my comic creating techniques to the next level and incorporate both 3D characters and 3D backgrounds. I’m not the most skilled when it comes to 3D programs, and I don’t have the time or health to create all the models myself, so I am looking

Updates as of October2009: Missing Halloween's story was created. Discontinued.
2010: Attempted to rework in 3D. Failed. Discontinued.
2013: Revived and started the animation production. Didn't reach Halloween. Hiatus.
2014: Resumed and held a contest. Didn't reach Halloween. Hiatus.
2015: Resumed. Missing Halloween didn't miss Halloween!
For the past month, me and Negyek were hard at work, day and night, to finish Missing Halloween. Later on, Procrastacat and VenBright were hired to give various voices for the ending scene. All of these are, of course, paid jobs, thanks to my Patreon supporters.
By November 29, the animation is officially done. All 8+ minutes of it.
The 'FNAF Sister Location' Anti-Hate RantOK, so everyone should have seen Scott's new teaser by now.
I was not going to write about this originally (so forgive me for rushing this journal), since I figured that literally everyone knows about the news by now, but the way people are announcing it and reacting to it disturbs me. I thought we were better than this, but I guess not.
Literally everywhere I go today, everyone I've seen is spamming memes like and saying that Scott is milking the series and beating a dead horse. Even people who have "left" the FNAF fandom and have decided to pop back in just to put in their discouraging, even hating, opinions. It's so bad, that I feel people are hating JUST because it has become cool to hate, as some kind of herd mentality.
Well guess what? It doesn't matter what anyone thinks! Scott is clearly going to do what Scott is going to do! The amount of hate th
How to get Popular as an Artist (EDIT)EDIT: Sooooo, this journal definitely proved my thoughts and point. Congratulations to myself, this is ironically my most popular journal on my DA.
NOW! I want to clear something first as many people seem to be mistaking and sort of bashing in the comments. People who do this type of content are not bad nor should be shamed. That is, if you really enjoy doing this type of content, there is nothing wrong drawing your favorite characters, wolves, cats, sexual content, tutorials, ect. (minus the drama... like seriously, this world needs less of that). I'm just a WEEE BIT tired of seeing young people and people that do art go straight into doing this because they get more noticed or this is the only way to get anywhere. They complain or abandon their passion/love that isn't 'oh so popular' (because it doesn't have advertisements/a pre-built fanbase, or a giant movie/tv show/game behind it) and move into something else that is trending just so they can be noticed. I know you want feedback.
Zootopia impressionsSo, I'm a bit late to the game on this one but I recently watched Zootopia. I can't exactly call these "first impressions" though because people have been talking about it for months, so these are just my impressions upon seeing the movie after having everyone saying everything about the movie. I was expecting some kind of hype backlash when watching it (which usually happens during scenarios like this), but thankfully that didn't happen this time. I enjoyed the movie. Most of it. There are some negatives, and I do have some criticisms of the movie. But for the most time it was a pleasurable experience. And there will be spoilers in this journal entry.
I will say, it was a pretty daring move for Disney to make a film about prejudice like this, in the modern era. Especially since their previous tackling on the subject, Pocahontas... wasn't the best. ("He's not like you and me/which means he must be evil!" A little on the nose, aren't we?). Zootopia is better than
